SUSAN E. RAWLINGS NAMED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF LEPRECHAUN, LLC
FORT WORTH, TEXAS, July 13, 2009 - Leprechaun, LLC today announced that Susan E. Rawlings has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. She was previously President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. In this role, Ms. Rawlings is responsible for the overall executive leadership of the company in addition to the day to day business operations, and accelerating the growth and development of Leprechaun's products and services for health plans in the Medicare Advantage and related industries.
"We continue to lead the HCC Management industry with new products at Leprechaun," said Ms. Rawlings. "Our Prospective product is generating new revenue sources for Medicare Advantage health plans who are adapting to the revenue gaps that are expected to occur in 2010. What's equally exciting is that this product suite also enables our clients to enhance their care management efforts. The delivered results are able to inform the Plan's care management process, thereby helping the Plan improve the quality of care delivered. I am impressed with the rapid adoption throughout the industry."
Leprechaun has also developed an Audit Solutions product set, which evolved from its industry leading Retrospective product. "With the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) expected to expand their targeted risk adjustment data validation (RADV) audits in the near future, I expect our Audit Solutions product will also become quite popular," Ms. Rawlings added.
Michael E. Bernstein, who has been serving as Leprechaun's chief executive officer, has decided to spend more time with his family. "I'm pleased with the significant progress Leprechaun has made in 2008, particularly with the exceptional results of the first set of Prospective assessments for our clients. The customer excitement and adoption has been great," said Mr. Bernstein. "In addition," he added, "Susan and I have worked closely together to bring Leprechaun's product suite effectively to our customers. I am confident that Susan's experience and enthusiasm for this business is what is needed for Leprechaun to evolve to the next level."
Prior to joining Leprechaun in 2008, Ms. Rawlings was the Senior Vice President and President, Senior Business at WellPoint, Inc. She was responsible for the overall Senior Business strategies and results, created and launched new Medicare Advantage and Part D products, and fostered and enhanced relationships with the CMS. With over 20 years of progressive leadership in the healthcare industry - eighteen of those years in Medicare - Rawlings brings expertise through experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, and is also a CPA.
